Han Beats Lai & Ko in Opinion Poll

Source: United Daily News

March 20, 2019

Former premier Lai Ching-te (賴清德) registered to run in the DPP’s 2020 presidential primary, while KMT Chairman Wu Den-yih (吳敦義) indicated that the KMT did not rule out the possibility of drafting Kaohsiung Mayor Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) for the presidential race. Han indicated that Wu had not contacted him and the matter had not been discussed, either. As for the results of an opinion poll indicating that Han’s support rating was higher than those of both Lai and Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je (柯文哲), Han stated that it might be that people empathized with what he said as it resonated with them.

Han indicated that now he did not have any time to think so much since he was working diligently for Kaohsiung every day, putting all his efforts into economics and attracting investments.
