 AIT Chairman: US Not to Endorse Any Party in 2020 Presidential Race in Taiwan

In a forum on the 40^th anniversary of the Taiwan Relations Act in Taipei yesterday, Terry Gou (郭台銘), chairman of Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., raised the question of whether the US would support any specific candidate in the 2020 Presidential race or allow people in Taiwan to elect their own new leader. In response, James Moriarty, Chairman of the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), stated that the US would not endorse any party and would work with whoever won the race.
