On August 19, the KMT legislative caucus called a press conference, listing top executives at semi-state-run corporations appointed by the Tsai administration out of political patronage, and criticizing the Tsai government for excessive cronyism.
According to the statistics compiled by the KMT legislative caucus, top executives at semi-state-run corporations affiliated with the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs totaled 36, who stood by the DPP but seemingly lacked professional backgrounds for their posts. KMT party whip Tseng Ming-chung (曾銘宗) also referred to the case of interpreter Zhao Yi-xiang (趙怡翔), stating that various cases showed that the DPP hired people merely based on their party loyalty without considering their expertise, especially at the semi-state-run corporations, violating principles of corporate governance. Tseng went on to ask would this be fair to grassroots employees and numerous investors in these corporations?
