Tsai Asks: In What Position Does Han Thank US for Arms Sale?

On August 18, US President Donald Trump confirmed that he had approved a proposed arms sale of 66 F16-V jet fighters to Taiwan. To this news, Kaohsiung City Mayor Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) released an announcement, both in Chinese and English, to thank the US.
President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) yesterday indicated that she did not know in what position did Han issue such an announcement, adding that however, at least this time, the KMT presidential candidate took a positive attitude towards this matter instead of sneering it.
Most commentators point out that any citizen has the right to express his opinions on the arms sale, not to mention an official presidential candidate of a political party.
