 Residents of Dalinpu Bombard Gov’t, Saying It Is Swindling Votes

Controversies over the relocation project of Dalinpu Village abound! In December 2016, the Tsai government planned to set up a “New Materials Circular Industries Park” in Dalinpu; the plan was the principal reason for truly initiating the relocation of Dalinpu Village. Deputy Premier Chen Chi-mai announced on October 8^th that the "project for relocation of Dalinpu Village" has been approved, but the project of the “New Materials Circular Industries Park” had yet to be prepared and approved; it is veritable wanton issuing of checks before the election, leading Dalinpu residents to scold the government for swindling votes.

The Kaohsiung City Bureau of Urban Development urged the central government to prepare and approve the project as soon as possible, and at the same time, map out and approve the ad hoc blueprint for settlement following the relocation of the village so that City Hall could act on it and start the work related to relocating the village.
