KMT Chairman Wu Den-yih (吳敦義) returned on October 12 to his hometown Nantou to attend the 2019 Global Tea Expo, actively canvassing voters for KMT presidential candidate Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜). Wu lambasted President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) for Taiwan’s economic stagnation, deteriorating public order, and fewer diplomatic partners under her over 3-year governance, adding that the Tsai administration was largely inferior to the 8-year tenure of the Ma administration. Wu also stated that if Tsai could not make any improvements, then the malperforming Tsai government should be voted out of office in January 2020.
