The Legislative Interior Committee scheduled a confirmation hearing today on the nominations of five Central Election Commission (CEC) members. Yesterday, KMT legislator Lin Wei-chou stated that in accordance with the Organic Law of the Central Election Commission, CEC members should transcend political parties in order to exercise functions and authority independently, but more than half of the five nominees nominated by the DPP had pro-Green colors. Lin said that he would express opposition to the nominations in today’s confirmation hearing.
