Chou Hsi-wei Criticizes DPP for Using around NT$ 1 Trillion of Government Funds for Electioneering Purposes

Yesterday, Chou Hsi-wei (周錫瑋), a deputy general manager of the Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) campaign headquarters, strongly lambasted that the DPP employed taxpayers money for patronage, for subsidies doled out prior to elections, and other electioneering purposes, totally around NT$1 trillion. Chou indicated that numerous people revealed that Chen Chi-chung (陳吉仲), minister of the Council of Agriculture (COA), in the company of Chen Chu (陳菊), Secretary-General to the President, had once canvassed votes for Tsai and slandered the KMT during their meeting in office hours with farmers.

Chou added that recently the chilling effect occurred among his friends because the DPP resorted to carrot and stick approaches. Therefore, Chou said that now many entrepreneurs, labor unions and associations dared not to support Han owing to the DPP’s suppression, under which Han, the grassroots presidential candidate of the KMT, was facing challenges in his campaign.
