Taiwan Signs 2 Military Contracts with US to Enhance Defense Capabilities

An official from the Ministry of National Defense (MND) confirmed on December 7 that the MND had signed two military contracts with the US military. One was a “follow-up pilot training program for F-16 aircraft,” costing NT$9.56 billion (US$312 million), and the other was a “support contract for the existing Patriot missile defense system,” with the procurement amount reaching nearly NT$1.6 billion (US$52 million). Therefore, the procurement amounts of these two contracts totaled over NT$11 billion (US$364 million).
