The tempest of cyber warriors created by Slow Yang (楊蕙如) has been spreading. Yesterday, the KMT legislative caucus disclosed that Yang had a group of “besties” in the central government behind her, and these “besties” helped cyber warriors find funding from the Sports Administration under the Education Ministry, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and state-owned enterprises, adding that they even frequently convoked coordination meetings through the office of Legislative Speaker Su Jia-chyuan (蘇嘉全).
KMT legislator Ko Chih-en (柯志恩) indicated that Yang’s Yi Shih Company Ltd. (易始股份有限公司) helped organize the WTA Taiwan Open, winning tender bids for 11 contracts of subsidies amounting to nearly NT$100 million (US$3.3 million) in merely three years.
Ko and Chang Shi-gang (張斯綱), a Taipei City councilmember, of KMT affiliation, revealed that in 2015 and 2016, for the subsidies to the 2016 and 2017 WTA Taiwan Open, which Yang’s Yi Shih company helped to organize, some legislators asked the Sports Administration to attend coordination meetings at the Legislative Yuan seven times. They also indicated that Chang Chia-ling (張嘉玲), Chef de Cabinet of Speaker Su, was the one who helped to convoke and preside over these coordination meetings.
