Last week, Tseng Ming-chung (曾銘宗), KMT legislative party whip, along with other KMT legislators and city councilmembers protested at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). They were blocked outside the building by a national police detachment, ending with pushing and shoving. On December 9, MOFA filed a complaint with the police against three KMT legislators and three city councilmembers for coercion and obstructing officers in the discharge of duties.

According to Tseng, on that day, he asked a MOFA congressional liaison officer to inform MOFA that they would go there and present a petition; however, by the time they arrived, MOFA had deployed 500 national police officers. He added that their lawyers had prepared briefs against Foreign Minister Joseph Wu (吳釗燮) for instigating police stationed at MOFA to use violence against legislators.
