After the setbacks in the 2020 presidential and legislative elections, the KMT is taking the first step toward reform. A motion will be introduced at the Central Standing Committee for establishing a reform committee on Wednesday, January 22nd. Its members would be composed of elected officials of KMT affiliations, including 15 city mayors and county executives, 19 city and county council speakers, legislators as well as youth representatives and experts, so that more voices of the people would be heard on the committee.
The reform committee would propose its reform plans based on a self-reflection in four directions: reformation of the KMT organization, its cross-Strait policy narrative, a mechanism for promoting the youth, and financial reforms.
