Johnny Chiang Advocates Rejecting “One Country, Two Systems” & Said to Seek Membership in UN under Designation of ROC

Yesterday, KMT Chairman Johnny Chiang (江啟臣) presided over the first seminar, in Penghu, concerning reforms on the KMT’s party affairs with grassroots party members in order to discuss reform programs with them.

With regard to the cross-Strait narrative, Chiang expressed, in a clear-cut manner, his advocacy of “rejecting one country, two systems and safeguarding the Republic of China (ROC)” in order to make a differentiation from the DPP’s “the ROC Taiwan.”

In affairs related to the international community, Chiang expressed the hope to seek an opportunity to regain membership in the United Nations under the designation of “the ROC.”
