 Cross-Strait Strategic Game Upgrades, Who Remembers the World Has Too Many Poor

Mainland China, "in view of current cross-Strait relations", temporarily suspended individual tourism from the Mainland to Taiwan; the Taiwan Affairs Office (TAO) under the State Council has confirmed that it is because the "DPP relentlessly promotes Taiwan independence activities."

The Tsai government in response criticizes that this is Mainland China’s political manipulations in intervening in Taiwan’s elections, accusing the Mainland of committing "strategic mistakes." To this, the KMT presidential candidate, Han Kuo-yu, urges that the Mainland should understand that "the people of Taiwan are not equal to the DPP," and the Tsai government should also properly handle the cross-Strait interaction mechanism.

Since Xi Jinping advocated exploring the "cross-Strait Taiwan program" at the beginning of this year, Tsai Ing-wen has been manipulating anti-China atmospherics, beating Lai Ching-te to the ground, overstepping Ko Wen-je, and directly attacking Han Kuo-yu; now the ban on individual tourism has again allowed Tsai Ing-wen to "pick up a gun."

Since Han Kuo-yu was elected Kaohsiung City Mayor, he has geared up the grassroots economy, among which Mainland tourists have had some contributions. Suspension of Mainland individual tourism would inevitably devastate tourism-related industries. The DPP is glad to "pick up a gun", machine-gunning against the KMT, while completely forgetting who is at the helm of the central government, causing havoc on the people.

Taiwan’s general elections have entered a treacherous game; the Mainland started earlier to launch it, apparently with strategic considerations. In the US-China trade war, Trump has not loosened his grasp; US-Taiwan relations have upgraded, thus, the Mainland believes that the DPP is relying on foreign power for self-aggrandizement. Hong Kong’s protests over an amendment bill to the Fugitive Offenders Ordinance have been snowballing; the Mainland believes that it is a "made-in-the-USA.” Even the former chief executive of Hong Kong accused Taiwan as the black hand behind-the-scenes. Although rebutted by both the US and Taiwan, people could see, however, the Mainland worries about the linkage between the Hong Kong independence movement and the Taiwan independence movement, as well as the intervention in Hong Kong affairs on the part of the US and Taiwan.

In the cross-Strait strategic game involving various aspects, who has committed "strategic mistakes" is not yet known at the present; however, the sharp increase in cross-Strait risks is the writing on the wall. In the 2020 general elections, unless the people make the correct choices, the world’s poor will become even more numerous.
