Hao Lung-pin & Johnny Chiang to Run for KMT Chairmanship

Candidates for the KMT chairmanship by-election may pick up registration forms today and tomorrow. So far, former KMT vice chairman Hao Lung-pin (郝龍斌) and KMT legislator Johnny Chiang (江啟臣) have announced that they will run in the by-election. Outside circles are viewing this as “a race between generations”.

Yesterday, Hao quoted NBA player Michael Jordan, “I can accept failure, but I can’t accept not trying,” emphasizing that “I will take the burden of integrating different generations.”

Chiang collected thousands of replies to his questionnaire on Facebook, taking his first step in reshaping the KMT. He would reportedly pick up his registration form today.

Eric Chu (朱立倫), former New Taipei City mayor and a former KMT chairman, stated that “I would definitely take part in the KMT reformation, but not the by-election”, showing that he had no intention to run for the chairmanship.
