When delivering the keynote speech at the DPP’s National Party Congress (NPC) held on July 19, President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文), who also serves as DPP Chairperson, indicated that currently, constitutional reforms were among Taiwan’s most critical reforms, and that in addition to a consensus on lowering the voting age to 18, opposition parties had recently also agreed on the abolishment of the Control Yuan and the Examination Yuan, adding that these two issues could be prioritized. She also called on opposition parties to jointly treasure the “constitutional moment.”
