LY Confirms Title of Citizen Judges Bill, DPP Aims to Railroad the Bill Today

The plenary session of the LY’s extraordinary session started deliberations on the Lay Judges Bill yesterday. The legislature staged a voting battle, confirming the title of the Bill as the Citizen Judges Bill in the second reading. The LY also passed a motion yesterday to extend meeting of the plenary session to midnight. As the extraordinary session will end tomorrow, the DPP caucus indicated that the plenary session would continue to vote on the Bill today, and that the meeting would last until midnight today, aiming to railroad the Bill before the end of the extraordinary session.
