Former President Lee Teng-hui Passes Away at 98

Former President Lee Teng-hui (李登輝) passed away at 7:24 p.m. last night at the advanced age of 98 (by Chinese reckoning). He had served twelve years in office, and was the first directly elected president of the Republic of China. Now that he has left us, history will decide on the merits and demerits of his legacy.
