CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets released its latest survey on Taiwan’s 2012 Presidential Election conducted by the Gallup Market Research Corp. The survey indicated that President Ma Ying-jeou’s support rating had risen to 48.2%, versus Tsai Ing-wen’s 41.6%, and James Soong’s 10.3%. The same survey also showed that the controversy over the Yu-Chang Biologics case had negatively impacted Tsai’s support ratings, while raising the KMT’s support ratings.
The latest poll not only showed that President Ma Ying-jeou had taken a lead of 7% over Tsai Ing-wen, but also that the KMT’s support rating for legislators-at-large had risen.
