Pan Shih-wei Resigns as Labor Minister
Source: All Taipei Newspapers
July 25, 2014
The Executive Yuan (Cabinet) yesterday confirmed that Labor Minister Pan Shih-wei (潘世偉) had verbally tendered his resignation and that Premier Jiang Yi-huah (江宜樺) had accepted it. Deputy Labor Minister Hao Feng-ming (郝鳳鳴) will be acting as Labor Minister.
An article in Wednesday's Next Magazine (壹週刊) insinuated that Pan was having an extramarital affair with Wang Mong-chun (王孟純), his assistant. Both of them, however, stepped forward separately on Wednesday to deny the allegations.
Labor Minister Pan Shih-wei, former Education Minister Chiang Wei-ling (蔣偉寧), and Huang Yu-cheng (黃玉振), former Minister of Hakka Affairs Council, have all recently resigned, so the Premier urgently needs to line up their replacements and a Cabinet reshuffle is imminent.
