Results of 10 Different Final Presidential Polls Released to Public
Source: All Taipei newspapers
January 5, 2016
Under the Republic of China’s law, polls related to either presidential candidates or the presidential elections, whether released or quoted in the public, are banned in the 10 days before Presidential Elections. Ten organizations in Taiwan released the results of their final polls on January 4 and 5. Today, January 5, is the last day for such release. The ten organizations include the Apple Daily (蘋果日報), the KMT, Sanlih E-Television (三立; SET), NextTV (壹電視), the Cross-Strait Policy Association (兩岸政策協會; CSPA), the Taiwan Brain Trust (新台灣國策智庫), the Taiwan Thinktank (台灣智庫), Taiwan Indicators Survey Research (台灣指標民調), TVBS, and the Liberty Times (自由時報). Most polls show that Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文), the Presidential candidate of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), leads her KMT counterpart Eric Chu Li-luan (朱立倫) and James Soong Chu-yu (宋楚瑜), the Presidential candidate of the People First Party (PFP).
