 KMT presidential candidate Eric Chu calls for soul-searching of the party after electoral defeat

Kuomintang presidential candidate Eric Chu Saturday called for thorough review and self reflection of the party after it suffered electoral defeat in the presidential and legislature elections.

He led a group of senior KMT executives to offer their deep apology to the public for the party’s defeat and expressed their appreciation for their support during the campaigning.

He said the party has not work hard enough to win support from the general public and for this he would resign to take full responsibility.

He congratulated his Democratic Progressive Party opponent Tsai Ing-wen for winning the presidency and committed to do soul-searching to find out how the KMT can reform itself in order to stage another come back in the future.
