Mayor Han Sighs: Taiwan Has Squandered over 20 Years

The Commercial Times yesterday, February 14, held an industrial forum with the theme of "The Rise of the South, Making Kaohsiung Prosperous" with the attendance of Kaohsiung City Mayor Han Kuo-yu. In his remarks, Han sighed that "Taiwan has muddled through over 20 years"; looking back over those years, from the top of the four Asian dragons, Taiwan has retrogressed to such a point.
He said that formerly political figures sat at the zenith of the pyramid, easily wielding and exercising power and prestige; as Mayor, he would set an example, harboring the spirit of service, influencing the whole government machinery to truly work for the citizens.
