KMT Holds 2nd TV Presentation of Campaign Planks for Primary in Taichung

On June 29, the KMT held its second TV presentation of campaign planks for its 2020 presidential primary. The five KMT hopefuls focused on youth, social, and educational issues.
Kaohsiung City Mayor Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) indicated that illegal drugs in Taiwan had spread rampantly, so combatting drug abuse was of paramount importance. He also proposed “allowing the government to take care of your parents”, indicating that the next generation must be cultivated in a bilingual (Chinese and English) education.
Foxconn’s Terry Gou (郭台銘) indicated that if elected President, his government would raise all newborn babies from birth to the age of six, using resources of big data to secure funding.
Eric Chu (朱立倫), the immediate-past New Taipei City mayor, indicated that low salaries had brought shame on Taiwan.
Chang Ya-chung (張亞中), an NTU professor of political science and principal of the Sun Yat-sen School, stated that under the desinicization brainwashing by the DPP government, the roots of the Republic of China had rotted away.
Chou Hsi-wei (周錫瑋), a former Taipei County Executive, indicated that around 3.8 million people across Taiwan lived below the poverty line, and many of them could not obtain care from the government, adding that young people did not know where their future would be.
