Yang's Cyber Warriors Pulled Out a Long Stream of Party-Gov’t Networks
United Daily News Editorial (Taipei, Taiwan)

Translation of an Excerpt
The Taipei District Prosecutors Office indicted Slow Yang and the cyber warriors under her banner, hoping to bring justice to the Su Chii-cherng case; unexpectedly, the Green camp is busy distancing itself from her, yet conversely, pulled out a long stream of government-business networks. The DPP proclaimed that it had “absolutely no ties” with Slow Yang, yet it could not deny the fact that Yang was a member of the DPP, and the Internet IP address used by her cyber warriors is often in the offices of the DPP legislators. Frank Hsieh argued that he and Yang were only "ordinary friends"; but when the company run by Slow Yang won business contracts with government departments, copies of official documents were sent to several city council members of the Hsieh faction. Wasn't there any use of their influence to exert pressure?
Following two days of brewing, the general sketch of Slow Yang’s cyber warriors has become clearer, and more clues have emerged regarding the approach of how she manipulated her cyber warriors and the sources of funds. Slow Yang is not a simple individual cyber warrior; ten years ago, she had founded a brick and mortar enterprise with a registered capitalization of NT$30 million and an actualized capitalization of NT$10 million, named Yi Shih Company Ltd. Through this company, she won contracts in public tenders from the central and local governments, plus subsidies from pertinent government departments, in over two years, the firm had revenue of nearly NT$100 million. The operations of her company relied on the political connections of the Green camp; for this reason, she could get whatever she wanted from government departments or state-run enterprises. This is the secret channel for making money.
What is astonishing is that Slow Yang’s cyber warriors were not just a small potato on the flanks of the Green camp; examining the party-government network she pulled out, it was, surprisingly, meticulously organized, with no holes unpenetrated. In fact, through the political gloves of the Green camp, she has extended her hand into government agencies and state-run enterprises, winning funds and subsidies with amounts far over the remunerations received by the individual cyber warriors under her banner. Just imagine, the funds from the fictitious budget of the government and the public sector, without being detected, have surprisingly become the fodder for sponsoring the malicious attacks of cyber warriors against faithful civil servants such as Su Chii-cherng. Isn't this an enormous irony?
Precisely because of this, we think that the Taipei District Prosecutors Office has chosen to only investigate the case up to Slow Yang is indeed "catching the small and letting go the bigger ones", falling far short, because a much larger dark hand is still hidden behind the scenes. Especially, the cyber warriors under Slow Yang's banner often use the website of the Legislative Yuan to send out articles; does this mean that idcc is the joint account of Green camp cyber warriors, or the Legislative Yuan offices have already become the base for the activities of Green camp cyber warriors? These questions must be quickly investigated. Pulling from one end of the long stream connected with Slow Yang’s cyber warriors case, in a short two days, it has surprisingly pulled out such a long stream of kaleidoscopic party-government-business ties; the decay and stench of Green politics drive people away.
