The Entire Population Remains Vigilant, No Mishap Is Allowed in Epidemic Prevention and Control

Translation of an Excerpt
The number of confirmed cases of Wuhan pneumonia on the Mainland is approaching 10,000, and 10 in Taiwan, including one that originated locally; the epidemic situation will gradually increase in intensity. The World Health Organization has declared that Wuhan pneumonia is a public health emergency of international concern; a number of countries have suspended flights with the Mainland and proceeded to withdraw expats. Taiwan is nearby the Mainland, with frequent personnel exchanges; situated at the most risky frontline peripheral, facing a deadly epidemic, we could not slight or under-assess the situation. The government has imposed stringent rules on arrivals from abroad and adopted several measures to cope with the situation; however, the crux of epidemic prevention lies with the public, and the entire population must heighten their vigilance to strengthen epidemic prevention and control.
No mishaps should be allowed; Wuhan slighted the situation at first, leading to a catastrophe. Taiwan has great confidence in its own medical care system; still we could not slight a bit. The entire population should remain vigilant, ensuring good self-management, protecting ourselves and also others. The government should target the possible development of the epidemic situation, planning beforehand a dynamic response program to cope with the situation so that its steps will be organized and orderly. As long as the public has confidence in the government, the epidemic situation will not get out of control.
