Yesterday, new KMT Chairman Johnny Chiang (江啟臣) issued the first wave of personnel assignments, which will be submitted to the Central Standing Committee for approval today.
In this wave, there are no vice chairmen. Lee Chien-lung (李乾龍), former director of the KMT’s New Taipei City chapter, was appointed Secretary-General of the party. The party will have five deputy Secretaries-General, with former legislator Lee Yen-hsiu (李彥秀) as the only full-time deputy, while the rest, including former legislators Ko Chih-en (柯志恩) and Yen Kuan-hen (顏寬恆), Hsieh Lung-chieh (謝龍介), director of the KMT’s Tainan City Chapter, and Huang Kwei-Bo (黃奎博), Vice Dean at the College of International Affairs at National Chengchi University (NCCU), being adjuncts.
Yeh Shou-shan (葉壽山), a confidential secretary to Kaohsiung City Mayor Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜), was appointed director of the KMT Organizational Development Committee. Since both he and Hsieh Lung-chieh were hardcore Han supporters, some party members interpreted that Han’s influence within the party still could not be underestimated.
