Green Camp Hatchet Men Create Troubles Amid Pandemic, While Grand Justices Remain Indifferent

The Ill-gotten Party Assets Settlement Committee (IGPASC) has been investigating the KMT’s "illicit party assets" and "affiliated organizations"; recently, it again pointed its sword toward the Chinese National Women’s League. As a result, even the overseas Chinese communities in northern Thailand aired grievances. Our mission in Thailand, the Taipei Economic & Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) in Bangkok, also issued a statement slapping the IGPASC in the face. Aside from indicating that the resources utilized by the Chinese Association for Relief and Ensuing Services (CARES) did not belong to any specific political party, nor any specific political party could decide its personnel appointments or distribution of resources, TECRO further emphasized that the Government of the Republic of China would absolutely not negate the contributions made by CARES to the overseas Chinese communities in northern Thailand, a mission the ROC government had entrusted for implementation. However, the IGPASC apparently decided to go to the end at will without letting up.

TECRO in Thailand says, "The ROC government would not negate itself," but it is utterly impossible to expect the IGPASC and even the entire DPP government to rein in the horse at the brink of the precipice. For the original hope to halt political chaos and abuses created by the IGPASC, we could only expect a fair and just constitutional interpretation on the "Statute Governing Inappropriate Party Assets" by the Council of Grand Justices.

When the new coronavirus epidemic swept through the media, the Green camp hatchet men who create chaos utilizing the opportunity not only are active in the IGPASC, but they also never stopped in the Central Election Commission, the Transformational Justice Committee, and even the Interior Ministry, and other central government agencies. However if the Grand Justices remained oblivious to such naked and sustained illegal acts, how could the people expect that the judiciary would become the guardian angel of democracy and human rights?
