 Pandemic Expert: 2^nd Wave of Outbreak in Taiwan Cannot Be Ruled Out

In a symposium on countermeasures against the COVID-19 pandemic yesterday, Chang Shan-chwen (張上淳), convener of an expert group under the Central Epidemic Command Center, was asked whether a second wave of the outbreak would hit Taiwan as the COVID-19 pandemic was getting more severe around the world. Chang answered that another outbreak could not be ruled out. 

Chang stated that the development of a COVID-19 vaccine would play a crucial role in the second half of the pandemic, adding that vaccine manufacturers in Taiwan were slated to launch the first-phase of human clinical trials on their potential vaccines in August.
