Press Release
Oct. 4, 2007

Ma Ying-jeou Office

KMT Vice Presidential candidate Vincent Siew embarked on his “Smiling Journey of Friendship” visit to Washington D.C. on Oct. 3. Siew met with foreign policy advisors of Sen. Hillary Clinton, Sen. Barack Obama, Sen. John McCain, and New York City’s former Mayor Rudy Giuliani in a breakfast meeting on Oct.4, exchanging views on Taiwan’s current political situation, cross-Strait relations, and Taiwan-US relations. During the meeting, those attending the meeting expressed their concerns about the possibility of elections being negatively affected by judicial interference and “dirty tricks” devised by the DPP prior to the election.

After the meeting, Siew went to the Capitol Hill to meet with US Senators and Congressmen.
