DPP Should Apologize to Zhang Mingqing and the Society in General for Violence Committed

Regarding the DPP supporters’ violent acts against Zhang Mingqing, vice chairman of Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait (ARATS), Lee Chien-jung, director of the KMT Culture and Communications Committee called upon the public to condemn violence jointly. Lee said that it was definitely not the way Taiwan people treat their guests, and it severely tarnished the image of Taiwan’s people.

Despite the fact that the DPP had gotten annoyed for being labeled as a “party of violence”, what the DPP has done in the past and what has happened lately only strengthen the negative image of the DPP.

Lee stressed that the irrational and extreme behavior of the DPP supporters could not represent the mainstream values of the Taiwan society. The real Taiwan people would not accept irrationality and extremism. DPP chairwoman Tsai Ing-wen should apologize to Zhang Mingqing and the society in general.
