Opinion Poll on Holding the Presidential and Legislative Elections on Same Day
Source: Interior Ministry
March 25, 2011
On March 23, the Interior Ministry made public the results of the public opinion survey on “absentee ballot and other election issues.” According to this survey, 72 percent of the respondents agree with the government’s plan to allow voters to cast their ballots at voting stations where they deem to be most convenient. Currently voters must cast their ballots at the voting station located in the district of their domicile. Under the proposed new system, voters may apply in advance to “transfer their voting station” to a new location where they may cast their ballots
With respect to whether the Presidential election and the legislative elections should be held on the same day, more than 60 percent of the respondents agreed with that proposal.
The latest poll was conducted between March 12 and 14 with 1,124 people surveyed. The margin of error associated with this sample is plus or minus 2.92 % with a 95 % confidence interval.
