KMT deputy secretary general Chang Yung-kong announced yesterday that Chairman Wu Poh-hsiung would lead a delegation to pay homage to the mausoleum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen in Nanjing on June 1. Dr. Sun founded the Kuomintang, the Chinese Nationalist Party, and was the Founding Father of the Republic of China. Meanwhile, Chairman Wu also accepted an invitation from Hu Jintao, general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, to visit Beijing following his trip to Nanjing.

Chang said that Chairman Wu exchanged views on his trip to Nanjing and Beijing with President Ma Ying-jeou, who expressed his full support for Chairman Wu, saying that Wu’s trip to Mainland China this time would benefit cross-Strait peace, stability and mutual development.
