Chou Li-fang (周麗芳), one of the three deputy mayors of Taipei City, tendered her resignation last month and officially stepped down on February 1. Chen Chin-jun (陳景峻), a former secretary-general of the Executive Yuan (Cabinet) under the DPP administration, was slated to fill Chou’s vacancy.

Yesterday, Chen Chin-jun stated that he was asked to meet with Mayor Ko Wen-je today to discuss related matters.

Taipei City Hall spokesman Sidney Lin (林鶴明) indicated that the Mayor tapped Chen because of his diverse political experience from local councilman to legislator, deputy minister and Cabinet secretary-general.
