Chou Jih-shine to Meet with Liu Jieyi for Consultations on KMT-CCP Forum

Chou Jih-shine (周繼祥), director of the KMT’s Mainland Affairs Committee, who is in charge of the groundwork of the KMT-CCP Forum, is scheduled to fly to Beijing today, at the head of a KMT delegation, to conduct consultations with the Mainland on the matter. This evening, Chou plans to meet with Liu Jieyi (劉結一), director of the Mainland’s Taiwan Affairs Office (TAO，國台辦) under the State Council.
According to informed Mainlanders, as long as the DPP government is willing to approve KMT Chairman Wu Den-yih’s (吳敦義) application to visit the Mainland, a Wu-Xi meeting is highly likely to take place. It is reported that Wu will submit his application to visit the Mainland in connection with the Forum to the Presidential Office this week at the soonest.
