Terry Guo, Chairman of Foxconn, yesterday revealed that if he decided to run for president, he would definitely follow the KMT’s primary procedure and would not accept a draft.

In accordance with the KMT’s rules, those who enter the Presidential primary have to be party members for a minimum of four months with “full party membership rights.” As to whether Guo is a party member, the KMT Party Central yesterday, when facing inquires from the external circles, flip-flopped three times in a day, from not being a party member to party member, then to a party member who had lost contact; in the end, KMT Chairman Wu Den-yih gaveled down, confirming Guo’s party membership, but saying that the exercise of "his party membership rights" had to be ascertained.

A KMT legislator revealed that Guo had a close friendship with former President Ma Ying-jeou, thus following the Chinese Lunar New Year’s holidays, after ascertaining that Ma Ying-jeou had no intention of running, Guo then decided to ponder throwing his hat in the ring.
