Chen Ridicules Guo over His Cross-Strait Knowledge

Foxconn Chairman Terry Guo (郭台銘) has recently upbraided the strategy of “coalescing the US to counter the Mainland” adopted by the Tsai government, asking, “Do you think the US will support Taiwan if Taiwan keeps countering the Mainland?” As to this, Chen Ming-tong (陳明通), Minister of the ROC’s Mainland Affairs Council (MAC), indicated yesterday that “Guo needs to understand both our cross-Strait relations and government’s policies more.”

 Terry Guo proposed a few days earlier that “Taiwan and China are indivisible, and China refers to the ROC.” Concerning Guo’s statement, Chen indicated that the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) long-standing propaganda was that “there is one China in the world, and Taiwan is a part of China; the People’s Republic of China (PRC) is the only lawful government representing China, which is also widely perceived by the international community.” Chen added that Guo went to the US to say that Taiwan was an inseparable part of China, but the “China” that the international community perceived was the PRC, so Guo apparently disseminated incorrect information to the world.
