Yesterday, President Tsai announced that Morris Chang (張忠謀), founder of the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), would represent her again at the 2019 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Summit scheduled for November 16 to 17 in Santiago, Chile, adding that Chang would have two missions this time: 1) expressing our resolve and accomplishments of pushing for becoming a digital economy and a smart nation; 2) sharing Taiwan’s digital inclusiveness and sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Chang, representative of the Chinese Economy at APEC Leaders’ Summit twice in the past, once in 2006 and once in 2018, said that he would discuss with other leaders issues related to the conceivable unemployment and wealth inequality caused by digital economics.
