After his defeat in the 2020 presidential election on January 11, Kaohsiung City Mayor Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) went to work at Kaohsiung City Hall, but the recall drive against Han as Mayor launched by “WeCare Kaohsiung” remains ongoing. Aaron Yin (尹立), the founder of WeCare Kaohsiung, stated that in the 2020 presidential election, approximately 60% of the Kaohsiung voters had cast ballots for Tsai Ing-wen, representing, many believed, a vote of no-confidence in Han. Yin stressed that the recall drive against Han would absolutely not stop.
