Wu Den-yih Resigns as KMT Chairman / Lin Rong-te Acts as Chairman

The KMT Central Standing Committee handled Chairman Wu Den-yih’s (吳敦義) resignation yesterday afternoon. Wu, along with top-ranking officials of the party tendered their resignations to the KMT Central Standing Committee.
CNA released news at 4 p.m. yesterday, stating that Tseng Ming-chung (曾銘宗), executive director of the KMT Policy Committee, would take over as acting secretary general. Tseng Yung-chuan (曾永權), incumbent KMT first vice chairman and secretary general, would take over as acting chairman.
At 6:30 p.m. yesterday, another news report from the CNA stated that members of the KMT Central Standing Committee, by secret ballot, elected from among themselves Lin Rong-te (林榮德), a member of the Committee, as acting chairman.
