 Lee Chien-lung: KMT Must Win By-Election for Kaohsiung City Council Speaker

During an exclusive radio interview granted by KMT Secretary-General Lee Chien-lung (李乾龍), the radio show host stated that former KMT Chairman Eric Chu (朱立倫) might challenge the incumbent Chairman Johnny Chiang (江啟臣) in a new election for the KMT chairmanship next year, asking whether Chu was competing with Chiang. Lee answered that “even the man in the street can easily see that he [Chu] is ambitious.”

With regard to the upcoming by-election for Kaohsiung City Council speaker, Lee stated that “if the KMT fails to win the by-election, Chiang and I will step down.”
