When Humanity Is Lost in the Elections, Sentiments Hating the DPP Will Resurge

With the fast approaching election day, the offense and defense of the ruling and opposition parties have become more and more agitated. Recently, the Blue and Green camps argued red-faced about the number of people participating in the Kaohsiung pro-Han/recall-Han rallies. Just because Han Kuo-yu held a crying baby girl, someone fabricated rumors, saying that he had not secured permission, while even a physician joined in, saying that it was inappropriate from the point of view of “health education”. What was making people turn their heads is, however, that the National Administration of State Properties for days was digging on the old site of Han Kuo-yu’s in-laws’ gravel and sand yard, apparently without any results, but commissioned other firms to continue the digging. This move has been branded as "a pursuit to kill by the machinery of the state, abusing its authority”, with the intention of impacting electoral prospects.

Using the baby-holding incident as an example, in democratic countries, interacting with children or babies has become one of the means for political figures to seek public support in order to underscore their affinity with the public. For many years, countless photographs of various types of political figures have been taken with children or babies; so why did only Han Kuo-yu holding a crying baby girl have to face accusations from all sides?

Look again, the show that the National Administration of State Properties began digging at Han Kuo-yu’s in-laws’ old gravel and sand yard in Yunlin County has also reached a point that the public could not bear to watch. Last week the government dispatched bulldozers to dig 38 places at the site, each three meters in depth, yet finding no traces of waste. However, the Tsai government did not stop there; this week it continued to dispatch bulldozers to dig at 24 places, one meter deeper downward, seemingly not wanting to end until finding evidence of heavy metal pollution.

The powers-that-be pressed so hard trying to trump up charges on an old gravel and sand yard. Conversely, we haven’t heard anything about the further development of Slow Yang’s indictment in connection with the Su Chii-cherng case; the DPP has rather hidden and protected her air-tight. As to the fake communist spy Wang Liqiang case, the Tsai government has also feigned to have forgotten its existence. In contrast, who is burying the facts, who does not want to know the true picture, and who is exploiting humanity, everyone knows at a glance.

Don't forget that in last yearend's nine-in-on local elections, the ruling party, because the people "hated the DPP", suffered a stunning setback. Now, does it still want to beckon this sentiment from the public?
