The Su Cabinet, Only Focusing on Achieving the Goal While Disturbing the People and Squandering Money

To revitalize the "post-pandemic" economy, the government has successively introduced various coupons, but all sorts of chaotic phenomena have appeared. For Taiwan, whose IT industry looks proudly at the world, the Su Cabinet, which labels itself as a "Cabinet of achievements," and has had several months for planning, nevertheless, staged such an absurd result, which is incredible.

COVID-19 is raging. From the beginning of the pandemic, people lined up to buy masks and alcohol. People queued up to register for relief subsidies. From queuing up to make inquiries, to registering, to waiting for "NT$10,000", the people have been suffering from queuing for nearly half a year. Issuing revitalization “three times coupons”, people still have to line up for registering and waiting for the coupons. When they receive the coupons after a long while, they also have to spend time to understand the various "innovations" for the use of the coupons by commercial establishments. However, the Council of Agriculture, the Hakka Affairs Council, the Ministry of Culture, and the Sports Affairs Administration each have their own guidelines, requiring people to go online, add Line, download apps, scan and take photos of various personal information, and even provide tax information, which makes the people annoyed, thus accumulating fires of fury in their chests.

For a mere NT$2,000 of “three times coupons”, or a few hundred NT dollars of various other coupons, people wait patiently day and night in front of the official website that was down for a long time and couldn't log in. Some people waited all night, and most people were exhausted. The Cabinet launched these limited-scale revitalization measures, and surprisingly no one was thankful, with complaints coming from all. This completely reversed the good record of Taiwan's success in "pandemic prevention", scoring points in phase one. This turnaround from "95 points for pandemic prevention and 59 points for revitalization" in phase two may have set a global record, which may have been unexpected by both the government and the people.

We hope the Cabinet we expect is, of course, one of “achievements". However, if the ministries are allowed to only focus on achieving their respective “goals”, while the entire team is not able to “achieve goals”, the grassroots will still have to continue to bear the pain of an incompetent government.
