The Executive Yuan continues to push its so-called 39 benefits, but it seems that the people are unimpressed what the Executive Yuan has been doing. According to a recent government survey, only 29% of the respondents are satisfied with Premier Chang’s performance, and 53% of the respondents are dissatisfied. With regard to the performance of the Cabinet, almost 60% of the respondents expressed dissatisfaction. The top three policies that over 70% of the respondents are dissatisfied with are “reduction of the poverty gap”, “stable economic development”, and “education reform.”

After further analysis, certain characteristics of those who are dissatisfied with the performance of the cabinet have been identified. These characteristics are as follows: average age from 30 to 49; college-education level or above; self-employment and professional expertise; military personnel, public servants, teachers; white-collar worker; pro pan-Blue camp; and swing voters. The higher the education level the respondents reported, the higher the percentage proclaiming dissatisfaction rose.

Compared with the results of a survey taken three months ago, the following voter blocks showed the greatest increase in dissatisfaction: voters living in the regions of Taichung, Changhua, Nantou, Kaohsiung, Pingtung, Penghu, Yilan, Hualien or Taitung; voters aged from 20 to 49; voters possessing a college-education level or above; employed as military personnel, public servants, teachers; or white-collar workers; self-employed voters and those with professional expertise. The dissatisfaction level of these respondents are dissatisfied rose 10% more than other region, raising concerns among DPP.
