Public Opinion Poll on Ma-Hsieh’s First Debate

KMT and DPP Presidential candidates Ma Ying-jeou and Frank Hsieh had their first television debate yesterday in the afternoon. Surveys conducted by the media show that most people think Ma Ying-jeou performed better than Frank Hsieh overall in the debate; however, post-debate support ratings for the two candidates have not changed a lot, with the Ma-Siew ticket still having a commanding lead in this race. On the prospects of winning the Presidential election in March, a large percentage of those surveyed also believe that the Ma-Siew ticket has a greater chance than the Hsieh-Su ticket in winning the Presidential election.
